Black Willow (Salix nigra) —
One of North America's most ecologically valuable willow trees. This powerhouse native tree is best suited for wet, challenging sites. Its extensive root system anchors stream banks, stabilizes floodplains, and controls erosion where other trees won't survive. In early spring it produces catkins that are one of the first pollen sources of the season for native bees and pollinators. Given full sun and consistently moist soil, this fast-growing native can reach 30–70 ft. at maturity — one of the largest willows in North America. USDA Zones 2–8.
These willows are grown in a 1 gallon container and the plant will average 24" - 30" in height. Grown by a horticulturist and professionally packaged to ensure the highest quality.
